Found in market restaurants, the Ecuadorians love their guinea pig.

I was told it tastes quite good, a little like a cross between chicken and rabbit.

But I decided to wait for another day.

The site of their roasted feet sticking up and their tiny teeth was a bit offputting.

This modern looking street cart looked like it might offer something more appetizing but the menu turned out to be allullas.

Allullas are rather dry buscuits made of flour, pork fat and local unpasturized cheese. I'm told they taste no better than they sound.

It's a cultural thing. Something you have to get used to.
